Your Neighbourhood: Cheras

Cheras is one of Kuala Lumpur's largest and most established residential districts, stretching from the eastern edge of the city centre toward Kajang. It is a neighbourhood built around food, convenience, and community — which is exactly why A&R Boutique Hotel chose to call it home.

The area around Taman Sri Bahtera is quiet and leafy, but you are never more than a few minutes from action. The MRT Kajang line, accessible from Taman Midah station (700 m from the hotel), connects you directly to Bukit Bintang (35 min), KLCC (40 min), and KL Sentral (30 min) without a car. Grab rides to the city centre typically cost RM15–25.

Cheras is especially known for its food scene. Connaught Night Market — the longest night market in Malaysia with over 500 stalls — draws crowds every Wednesday evening. Taman Midah has its own Saturday night market just 800 metres away. And within walking distance of the hotel, you will find Oldtown White Coffee (400 m) and a handful of local restaurants.

For shopping, EkoCheras Mall (3.1 km, 10 min by car), MyTOWN (5 km, 12 min), and Sunway Velocity (4.5 km, 12 min) are all close. And when you want to go further, Pavilion KL and Mid Valley Megamall are a short MRT or Grab ride away. Cheras is not flashy. It is real, local, and endlessly convenient. That is the point.
